The Welcome banner is on a field gate facing Mathon Road. Founded in 1900, The Downs Malvern is an independent co-educational preparatory school, located in Colwall in eastern Herefordshire, on the western slopes of the Malvern Hills. The name of the school is The Downs Malvern, though the southwest edge of Malvern (Worcestershire) is about 3km away.
