Taken near the junction with Bell Lane. A mixture of retail and housing along one of the main streets in Thaxted, including a number of listed buildings. The 2 buildings nearest to Bell Lane (20 & 18 Watling Street) are listed as: Nos 18 and 20 (Post Office) - Late C15 or early C16 house, timber framed and plastered, with red plain tile half hipped roof. 2 storeys. 5 window range, double hung vertical sliding sashes with glazing bars.
