The Wouldhave is a J D Wetherspoon's pub. It is named after the 18th-century boat-builder William Wouldhave (1751–1821). He is also commemorated by the Wouldhave Memorial, at Pier Head, for his part in the invention of the self-righting lifeboat. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Wouldhave
