Grade II listed statue and pedestal, Bridge Street, Newport

Located in the city centre, between a NatWest bank branch and an HSBC bank branch in the pedestrianised part of Bridge Street. The statue depicts Sir Charles Morgan of Tredegar (1760-1846), MP for Brecon (1787-96) and for Monmouthshire (1796-1831) and a well-known agriculturalist in this area. Both pedestal and statue are signed by John Evan Thomas, sculptor, dated 1848. Grade II listed in 1980.
