A few metres north of platform 2, a small yellow post on the right shows the number 13 above what looks like a smaller number 11, but is actually two vertical black lines, railway code for half a mile. When I saw the post, I wondered if the zero point is Shrewsbury, but I later found that Shrewsbury is about 19 miles away. Crewe station is the correct distance from this post.
