Temporary installation of photographic images by Paul William Llewellyn Jones on Platform 2 at Cullercoats Metro Station. The six images went on display just ahead of the August Bank Holiday in 2011. 'Whitley Bay in Colour' is inspired by the idea that Whitley Bay retains the spirit of its glory days as a seaside resort, still only below the surface. Paul, who is from Whitley Bay, says of the work: “If you listen hard you can hear the sound of fun and laughter still filling the air, reminding us of times gone by. The breathtaking landscape still stands bold and the haze of the sun still dazzles the magnificent buildings and beaches.
