HS1 near Ebbsfleet International

The line between St Pancras International and the existing HS1 was opened on 14th November 2007. Ebbsfleet International opened to the public on 19th November 2007 for people travelling on Southeastern High Speed Trains. The station was formally opened to Eurostar and dedicated in a ceremony by Dame Kelly Holmes on 29th January 2008. For more information see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ebbsfleet_International_railway_station This view from a footbridge between Swanscombe and Northfleet looks towards the tunnel under the Thames at Swanscombe. The bridge just ahead carries the North Kent Line between Swanscombe and Northfleet over HS1. Javelins between St Pancras International and Faversham join the much slower North Kent Line though Gravesend after stopping at the northern (separate) part of Ebbsfleet International.
