The track layout at Sudbury has expanded and contracted over the years, and has now reached the minimum possible without closure - a single track terminating with a buffer stop at a small modern station. This is sited where a cattle dock used to be, just round the bend. The curve tightens here, and there is a check rail with a flange lubricator - the yellow pot.
