Erected in 1830 by Dr Edward Coppleston, Bishop of Llandaff and rector of Offwell 1800-1804. Renovated in 1999. This was Offa’s Well, from which the village takes its name. The inscription reads: “Whoever drinks of this water shall thirst again” - the words of Jesus as recorded in the Bible, John's gospel chapter 4 verse 13.
