A narrow street running between Ditchling road and London Road that was laid out in the 1810s though nothing remains from that period. The houses on the northern side were removed in the late 1930s and were replaced with an annex for Brighton Technical College and a garage along with a southern entrance to the Open Market. By the late 1980s that side was quite rundown and mainly used by those working in the market. The current flats were built as part of the Open Market development in 2013. The southern side was removed by the late 1960s or early 1970s with the houses there added in the 1990s. My one abiding memory of this street is the morning I walked down it and straight into a police armed cordon around a building society on London Road.
