Opened in 1885 by the London Tilbury & Southend Railway on their more direct route to Southend. The District Railway arrived in 1902, with platforms directly in front of the camera position. View west towards Upminster Bridge and London. Like 55% of the London Underground network, this part is actually overground. The 1885 station building is far left. A later 1932 entrance was built on the road bridge, in the centre-distance.
