Built in 1960-61 as the Regent Arcade on the site of a former warehouse originally with three entrances on Bartholomews, East Street and Market Street. A fourth was added on the western side also on Market Street in the early 1990s but has since been closed again. The name change from Regent to East Street is also fairly recent.
