Viewed through the gates on Francis Road. This is the original house built in 1590 by the Chaloner family who moved from neighbouring Image Later used as the village workhouse until purchased by Charles Eamer Kempe in the 19th century who subsequently extended the house eastwards as well as building Image in the garden as his own personal studio. This part is now known as the West Wing and is now a separate residence from Kempe's extension which have also been subdivided into two separate dwellings.
