Malin Hill, a narrow alley up the face of the sandstone bluff on which the Lace Market stands, has been closed for repairs for some while. The bollard on the right is a Victorian one carrying the arms of the Borough (not City) of Nottingham. Nottingham has been a city since Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897.
