The amateurishly carved names on the memorial are shallow-carved and are not highlighted making them difficult to read. They are on the left-hand panel: C. CAMPAN, G. GOOCH and J. HERBERT who are: Private C Ernest CAMPAN, Corporal Gordon Douglas GOOCH and Driver Samuel John HERBERT. On the right-hand panel is the legend 'Re-dedicated Nov 11th 2007' and below is the name E. CAMPAN followed by 'For King and Country' with no indication as to why his name was added at the later date. It could be that the forementioned C. Ernest has been confused with the new-comer or that he was forgotten, which are the options 'For KING and country' might suggest. There is no E.CAMPAN found on CWGC database although C.E. CAMPAN (as above) is present. I would be pleased to receive further information regarding this anomaly. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4632065
