Reached up a pretty footpath, Lullington Church, also known as the Church of the Good Shepherd, is claimed to be the smallest church in England. It was built from the remains of the chancel of an earlier church that was destroyed by fire during the 17th century. It measures 16 feet square and seats 20 people. This view is from the path up to the church. It passes an attractive wild garden with views of the South Downs behind. This was a baking hot summer's day and there was little shelter on the Downs. The cool interior of the church gave welcome respite.
