Embankment on the 1785 Caldon Low Tramroad

The 1785 waggonway carried limestone from Caldon Low Quarry to the "new" wharf, also of 1785, on the Caldon Canal at Froghall. It operated for about 19 years, until it was replaced by the 1804 plateway.
