Grade II Listed former Market Hall it is a restored 16th century timber framed building with modern brick infill. At one time the building extended further south and the ground floor was open. A plot of land in the market place was granted to the burgesses by Sir Anthony Browne in 1552 for the building of a market house. By a 1632 an open sided market building appears to exist on the site of the old town hall north-east of here.
