This building was apparently purpose built as a hotel in 1875 but has been used for various purposes over the years, including a doctors residence and surgery, a public house, the headquarters of the local air raid wardens during World War II, and by Saltburn High School for Girls. Currently The Marine occupies the "wing" nearest the camera, while the Masonic Hall is in the centre, and Red Gables (holiday apartments) is in the "wing" farthest from the camera.
