The A456 is a trunk road that runs west from Birmingham to meet the A49 north of Leominster. Here at Mamble there is a lay-by - no doubt the remains of the road where a bend has been straightened - which is signed as a picnic site. A temporary sign advertises a forthcoming country music festival.
