This is where the London Loop long distance footpath officially starts, at the entrance to Erith pier. The area has been redeveloped, with a big new supermarket just out of shot to the right. I only mention that because any sailors peering too closely at the right hand flagpole may wonder why the flags say "MORRISONS WELCOME" A bit of niche sponsorship there. The other one says "deep wharf terminal"
