Millport Gas Works

The last coal gas works in the UK. Used hand fired horizontal retorts to the end. Closed 1981. Condenser to the left, Livesey washer to the right. The building contained the exhausters, including a steam engine driven Beales exhauster. Real living history. Now demolished.
