The burial aisle contains the effigy of a knight in full armour who is believed to have fought at the Battle of Roslin in 1303 during the Wars of Independence /https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Roslin . He has been moved here from the aisle that was built for Robert Preston of Valleyfield (1757-1848) on the south side of the old church.
