The miller would usually be found here checking the quality of the flour coming down the chutes and adjusting either the water flow or the gap between the stones and bagging up the flour. A set of levers and handles allows this to be done from the one position. The machinery driving the stones is from the Victorian re-engineering that moved the waterwheel to the exterior of the building.
