Opened in 1805 and abandoned in 1904, the Somerset Coal Canal runs south from its junction with the Kennet & Avon Canal at Dundas Basin. The first 500 metres or so have been restored, and are home to a boatyard, moorings, a cafe and a bike shop. This is the current terminus of the canal.
