Deep, water-filled ditches cross Commonhead Moss Local Nature Reserve. These are home to the larvae of damselflies, dragonflies, diving beetles and many other invertebrates. Birch trees are encroaching in many parts of the site, causing it to dry out. Power lines cross the site at this point.
