The Basement on Churchgate

The Basement was the name a children's and ladies wear clothes shop that operated from these premises before they were taken over by "Restore", a company which specialised in hand painted distressed furniture and was a subsidiary of Acorn Treatment and Housing, a drug and alcohol treatment centre based in Stockport. Now that project appears to have been closed and there are plans to demolish the building and replace it with a three-storey apartment complex. In the foreground are lights in St Mary's churchyard.
