The L-shaped block of flats occupies the space between Reginald Street and Frankham Street, was one of twelve similar blocks built in the late 1940s, the first phase of post-war rebuilding, and called the Crossfield Estate. It replaced older (probably 19th century) housing and an Anglican church called Christ Church which closed in 1936. At the time of this photo in 2015 it was undergoing refurbishment.
