The most prominent building in the town centre itself, ie Market Street, is the old market hall, not for any outstanding architectural merit, but for its mass and height. The roof towers above the other buildings on the street. This view of Market Street (A547) is taken from the traffic lights at its junction with Chapel Street (A548).
