We have lost many of our wild flowers through intensive farming but some of the hardier species have survived the chemical sprays used to control weeds and can be seen springing up at the field's edge such as here in Manning Road where ox-eye daisies, thistles, poppies and mallow are blooming in profusion to delight passers-by.
