Constructed in 1888, architect James Kellaway Colling (1816-1905). The memorial is to Sir Edward Kerrison (1776-1853) who was an army officer and later a politician. He was wounded in the leg at the battle of Waterloo and was later an M.P. representing three different constituencies, Shaftesbury, Northampton and Eye.
