View northwards and uphill from the minor road between Shere and West Horsley. To my surprise, this appears to be the first photo of this very substantial country house to be posted on Geograph. I was also surprised to find that my Surrey Pevsner (which is not the latest edition) fails to list the building, despite its size. I've not had a close view, but my guess is that though the Dutch-style gables hint at an earlier date, the house is Victorian, or possibly later. The pond in the foreground does not appear to be mapped.
