In the south west corner of the park that was acquired by the local council in the early 1950s and is now a popular recreational area. Once the southern part of Whitegate Field according to Cuckfield's 1843 tithe map, the northern portion now containing Image It later became part of a neighbouring nursery before being added to the park.
