Manchester blue plaque on the side of Brownsfield Mill (Image]). ALLIOT VERDON ROE (1877 - 1958) and HUMPHREY VERDON ROE (1879 - 1949) formed the A.V. Roe & Co (Avro) aircrafty company on 1st January 1910 and opened their first workshop here.
