Photographed from Vantage Quay Bridge. The Rochdale Canal is in the foreground with bridge No. 91 and lock No. 83 beyond. The mill was built in 1825 as a steam powered cotton spinning mill with timber frame construction and an internal beam engine house. It was later used by A V Roe for aircraft construction for a period and in 1924 a triplane was discovered in the roof and is now on display in The Science Museum, London.
