This is a fairly new incinerator designed to burn waste of various sorts. Licences have been issued by the Environment Agency in respect of two companies: Grundon Waste Management Ltd and S Grundon (Waste) Ltd. Both are rated 'very good' in terms of 'Operator Performance'. Grundon's website: https://www.grundon.com/facilities/high-temperature-incineration/ In December 2011 Grundon's submitted plans for a rather similar incinerator in a quarry site just south and east of Junction 13 of the M4. Perhaps predictably it has provoked howls of outrage from the 'BANANA' lobby who seem to be everywhere these days.
