A disused gate and farmland. Although not visible in this picture, the views over the gate are towards Kings Mill Hospital on the A38. This gateway is at the mid-point along a public footpath that links Derby Road (A611) - behind the photographer - with High Oakham House (a former farm) at the closed end of High Oakham Drive. The latter, a cul-de-sac, being marked as a "Private Road". The path behind the photographer is sandwiched between the crematorium and the north-east border of the Shining Cliff Plantation. On the photographer's right are views across virgin pastures and woodland that seem to be part of the combined Mansfield Crematorium and Nottingham Road Cemetery 'estate'.
