A Grade II-listed terrace of houses on the north-west side of Wilson Street, opposite some public gardens. These houses were built in 1766 for a vicar of Newark. In 1720 the Rev. Dr. Bernard Wilson, D.D. inherited wealth in the form of an estate worth £100,000 from Sir John Markham, a Grantham baronet who had been the M.P. for Newark. This inheritance enabled Wilson to purchase property in Newark, hence expanding his patronage and power. As a result his career has been described as "more secular than spiritual". At one time he was involved in the financial markets and on other occasions it seems that he used Church-sponsored charity funds for causes that served his own interests. These properties were restored and converted into apartments c.1980. Kirk Gate is the turning to the left, whereas Church Street that runs past the main entrance to the Parish Church is directly ahead.
