The train is passing through the site of the original Kings Cross station, which was originally covered by an arched train-shed: a platform can be seen to the left of the train. The station was moved westwards, down the tunnel, following wartime bomb damage. To the right, behind the wall, is the former Kings Cross Thameslink station, now also replaced by a new station further west.
