These postboxes have I think been moved here in the last six months from outside the old post office in East Street, just around the corner. The one on the right is a standard double-aperture box dating from 1996 (the words ROYAL MAIL instead of POST OFFICE tell us that it is no older than 1994, but in fact this box is dated 1996 around the back). The left-hand one is of a modern design and is specifically for franked items, which will not therefore need to be postmarked.
