Demolition work at the south-east corner of York House is seen here from the side of The House of Fraser shop. A couple of chimney stacks belonging to the Grade II-listed Rose of England public house are visible on the left. The public house, dating from 1898 was designed by Watson Fothergill of Nottingham for the Nottingham Brewery Company. York House, with its former front entrance on Mansfield Road, has been empty since April 2012. The site is currently being cleared in relation to an expansion of the Victoria (shopping) Centre.
