Evidence of demolition work on the south side of York House is seen here from the side of The House of Fraser shop. Beyond the scaffolding and plastic sheeting is the Grade II-listed Rose of England public house, dating from 1898, that was designed by Watson Fothergill of Nottingham for the Nottingham Brewery Company. York House, with its former front entrance on Mansfield Road, has been empty since April 2012. The site is currently being cleared in relation to an expansion of the Victoria (shopping) Centre.
