On the grassy verge on May Day. I had originally called this "Common Field Speedwell (Veronica persica)", but an email from Robert Flogaus-Faust suggests it might be "Veronica chamaedrys (or possibly a similar species)". The flower in the picture "does not show Veronica persica, because the bracts are minute, whereas they are leaf-like in Veronica persica. In addition the flowers are too bright blue, with white edges."
