The view to the West from the site of Magnis, the Roman town between Credenhill and Kentchester. The lane from Credenhill past Magna Castra Farm skirts the walls of the town, which still exist buried in the hedgerow. Magnis was excavated by The Woolhope Club in 1912-13 and again in 1924-5, but nothing has happened since. The site is pasture land and the home of a major dairy farm. Two footpaths cross the site. Whilst there this magnificent sky developed, followed by a downpour.
