Here Spout Lane crosses both the Darlington - Bishop Auckland railway, and the railway and road connecting parts of the National Railway Museum site. The track in the foreground is for museum use and when a train needs to pass the traditional wooden crossing gates block off the road. Shildon's signal box can be seen in the background.
