The inscription on the bench states that it was donated by residents of Penallt to commemorate the Queen's Golden Jubilee in 2002. On the boulder, a Trellech United Community Council notice dated 1986 is titled PENALLT VILLAGE GREEN. It states that village greens are an ancient part of British heritage and provide a community area where villagers have a customary right to indulge in lawful sports and pastimes. The notice requests you to help maintain these rights by neither parking on, nor causing damage to, the green.
