Abbot's Litten (formerly Lynton House) is a Grade II Listed townhouse rebuilt about 1740 with a wing added on the southwest after, possibly early 19th century. It was the home of the young Major Edward Bamford VC, DSO (1887-1928) and his older brother Robert who was one of the founders of the company and designer of the original Aston Martin. In 1952 it was recorded as being 'extensively reconditioned' and 2010 sales particulars describe it as requiring 'some modernisation and refurbishment'. See also Image
