Viewed from Canal Road. Firepool is one of the largest mixed-use regeneration schemes in the South West of England. Firepool is bounded by Taunton mainline railway station to the north, and the town centre & Somerset County Cricket ground to the south, with a waterfront setting in the middle. The Firepool redevelopment will provide: • Offices (large and small) • Waterfront apartments and modern town houses with private gardens. • Retail and leisure facilities including a supermarket, restaurants, bars, cafes and a hotel. • A boulevard giving a direct route from the railway station through the centre of Firepool to the River Tone, cricket ground and the town centre. • A Waterside Plaza providing a public space overlooking the River Tone. • Open spaces, parks, riverside walkways and communal gardens. Completion of the 12-year project is scheduled for the early 2020s.
