An excavation in Rosebery Avenue, EC1 reveals water pipes, gas pipes, electricity cables, traffic signal cables, telephone cables, fibre optic cables .... Peter Laurie's book "Beneath the City Streets" describes a host of less familiar features, including secret tunnels.
