Perhaps the screws holding the WELCOME TO PERSHORE sign have loosened enough for it to be facing away from Station Road. Although strangers to the area in a passing vehicle cannot see which town they are entering, they will see that it is twinned with Bad Neustadt (a town in northern Bavaria, Germany) and Plouay (a commune in Brittany, NW France).
